...graduation punya pasal...

Dear Cohort 4 QUT-ees, please go to QUT virtual -> graduation info -> check if you need to change ur name on the parchment and state if you want them to deliver parchment to your house before 6 Dec!!!!

Just got the above message from facebook shoutout. posted by Sarah and Kelsey. thanks dearie for reminding us including me who is "hardly-check-QUT-email-inbox" person.

Yes, i just checked what i am supposed to check and ahoy, the graduation ceremony will be on this 14 December at QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre). yeay.... i'm officially a graduate after the day...oh, how time flies...

Sadly, i'm not going to the ceremony which deep inside my heart, i really really hope someone who has more money than he/she should have would sponsor me to fly there. but i guess, i should be grateful enough and not to over-dreaming =P

Few of my friends are going to get their parchment there (and i'm totally green with envy ~~ñgee~~ i want to join them...)

and, back to the message above, i've already selected to just get my parchment sent to my house.. huhu... sedih sih... i really really wish i can get it myself on the prestige stage from the Chancellor and also take pictures di bawah pokok Jacaranda yang purple (eh, jacaranda ade lagi ke bulan 12 ek?)...

okay, to add on to the sadness, i copy-paste what is written in my QUT Virtual wall

Congratulations on completing your QUT course requirements. Please respond to your ceremony invitation and register to graduate below. Alternatively you can register to receive your parchment via mail if you do not wish to attend a ceremony.

Ceremony 4 - NOT ATTENDING

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC)

Tuesday, 14 December 2010 10:30am

there's another QUT ceremony i can attend which is usually being held at Nikko Hotel, KL, but i'm not sure whether i can make it next year or not. plus, what if i am posted to hujung dunia. but for sure and inshaAllah if Allah grants i will be attending the one held in IPBA.

okay, i know i shouldn't melayan perasaan yang sedih dan terkilan ini. Allah definitely knows what's best for me. Sabarlah.

p/s: pssst.. but i do hope, i can attend Apek's graduation in UK later. (^_^)

...Good and bad...

I think the title doesn't depict what i want to say....after all, this is Izyan Hamizah. (can't convey things smoothly) =P

My time in ipba nearly comes to its end. but, it does not end yet. based on the schedule informed this morning, 19th of november will be my last day here. time flies so fast that i don't even aware i'm leaving the student title. feeling? knowing the schedule this morning made me feel sad. i'm truly sad to leave good people i've met in this life (i mean, the life in ipba). even though i'm not a useful person of the cohort, just leeching around them, but for certain people i met, i know i'm not just a leech to them. hehe. and they have done good things to me. i'm glad that Allah never tested me with any problems in our ukhuwah, or friendship (He did, but we overcame it!, so it didn't scratch any scars in my heart and i hope theirs too.)

Really, good persons are hard to find. but in my life i'm glad i never (so far) find bad person. they are all good, charming and likeable persons. i feel like i'm the one who has the bad attitude and whatnots. but not every good person i met, become close to me. just some of them. really 'some'. hehe... only few i share the feeling with. only few of them who i went to them and requested them to listen to my rumblings/worries. and in just few weeks, i'm going to miss these persons (err, i mean physically won't see them as frequent as i see them now)

It's hard for me to tell face-to-face what i feel to them, but writing here should convey some of my messages, some of the feelings that i really want them to know. i really really really appreciate what they have done (and have tried to do) to me. only Allah can repay the good things they have done to me. this leech (me) can never ever repay the whole bunch of them.

This also goes to someone i am trying to forget, someone i can't and don't want to reach physically, someone that Allah has sent to me to be a stepping stone for me knowing the reality of this world. even though i highly regret about it, about my past, but to look at it on the bright side, i will not be 'me' if i don't go through my life with this person. so, to that person, we have made the mistakes and we have learnt from it. may your life afterwards is blessed with good things.

I'm grateful that Allah has set my path in IPBA, a place where i learnt how to love, how to be friend, how to appreciate person, how to see the world in wider view, how to think beyond seen and every single things needed in life. Of course, this little, useless slave can't thank you more for all the blessings You have bestowed upon me (yet i'm still stubborn).

p/s: writing this makes me feel i never ever experience sadness. (^_^)

...JIRIM2 & recent updates...

i have been quiet for quite some time right? i want to write, really and i miss writing, updating this blog. but what can i say, i always have other things to do. but alhamdulillah now, i finish with my academic year. meaning that i'm nearly done with my 5 years and a half in ipba.

Practicum went well even though at first i encountered a lot of problems. finally i survived. just that, i am thinking how can i live my whole life being a teacher. oh, i definitely have to find 'support system' as soon i know where i will be posted next year. i'm glad i have my good friends throughout my difficult life during my practicum. thanks so much for your support, sharing and ideas.

now i'm done with all these things, just have few courses to attend, and wait for the practicum result. hopefully it will be smooth-sailing and this year will end so fast. but, there is one more important thing will be happening soon. behold!! it's NOT my marriage. (^_^) not yet. it's JIRIM2. i'm working on it right now. really put all my energy, thinking, heart and soul in there since it is my first time to involve in such a grand activity.

so, if you, the readers, have siblings, cousins, children, neighbours with age range 15- 17 years old, have nothing to do this year-end holiday, come and join us in JIRIM2 Jambori. InshaAllah, i promise you something (lots of things) beneficial dunia and akhirat for the kids.

...Teachers out there!!..

this is my third post of the day =P haiyya, go do your proposal la!!!

This post 'accidentally laid' in my FB inbox. From Siswa IPGM page

let's read it..

__________________________________________________________________

“Bosanlah duduk kat maktab..”
“Jom,kita lepak dulu”
“Exam lama lagi”

..When I have no ideas...

wah, for the first time since long time ago, I'm addicted to my own blog. =p

okay, okay, to be honest, i don't have any idea what to write for my action research proposal (so, it explains why i am 'lingering' here) Still thinking of the topic. i have a few in my mind. but it seems that i can't expand more on the idea. oh, writer's block.

Writer's block?

I used to love reading (in earlier phase of my life) and i often read about the writers' biography. They always wrote their appreciation to the close ones who were willing to bear with their emotions when they experienced writer's block. Then, i always asked myself, "what is writer's block ek?"

well, it is well- explained now, more precisely, when i entered IPBA world.. (^_^)

During U last night, i came across this ayah,

They said: "Glory to Thee, of knowledge We have none, save what Thou Hast taught us: In truth it is Thou Who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom." (Al-baqarah: 32)

They
here refer to the angels. This is an ayah from the scene in which Allah asked the angels to name things, but they were not able to do so as Allah never taught them about the things (not even the names of those) But, Allah had taught Adam and Adam was able to name the things. So, this led to Allah's order for the Angels to bow down to Adam. All the angles did except Iblis, out of his arrogance.

Well, "bowing down" here did not mean that Angel prostrated Adam like they did to Allah, but it showed that Allah elevated the highness of Adam, above the Angles as he had the knowledge (taught by Allah). It also symbolizes that Allah will elevate oneself (human being) when they are knowledgeable.

Glory to Allah who teaches us a lot of things but verily He's the only most Knowledgeable and Wisest of all.

Yes, every time we learnt new knowledge, lets say Alhamdulillah and thanks Allah for indirectly teaching us. Not enough by doing so, teach the knowledge to others sincerely as Allah will grant you more knowledge (even in abundance).

waaa weeee, i'm glad i'm a teacher

Then, if you have writer's block (like me), let's istighfar, ask for Allah's forgiveness, because the knowledge might be covered (hijab) because of our sins.

p/s: For the story above, refer the Quran surah Al-Baqarah Ayah 30-34

...Which one is us?...

Izyan, stop thinking about the Action Research proposal!!!

Well, let's share this part. I've been reading this book since last three weeks (but haven't finished yet) and came across this knowledge that is worth sharing.

In this duniya @ world, there live 3 types of human being...

The first one is those who live for the sake of this worldly pleasure. other words, live life to the fullest, living for the duniya, never to think or believe that there is hereafter.

And they say: "There is nothing except our life on this earth, and never shall we be raised up again." (Al-An'am: 29)

The second category is those who "hilang pedoman, terumbang ambing, akidah bersimpang siur, melakukan kesesatan dan menyimpang dari jalan Allah SWT dalam kehidupan duniawi. But, they still think and really really believe that they have done good deeds (bajet bajet boleh masuk syurga dengan 'ibadah' yng dilakukan). hakikatnya, they are still thinking of this worldly pleasure while at the same time they do kerja yang berbentuk kerohanian.

and last but not least, the people who make this world as a farm/kebun/ladang tanaman whatever you call it and to pluck the product and profit out of it in the akhirat/ hereafter. They are those who have true faith to Allah SWT.

What is the life of this world but play and amusement? But best is the home in the hereafter, for those who are righteous. Will ye not then understand? (Al-An'am: 32)

Well, let's reflect which one do we fall into? don't have to shout out loud. it's within, you, yourself and Allah SWT.

..AB first gath..

Alhamdulillah wa syukurillah.

i hope my attempt to post something this time will be successful (if you are reading it now, meaning that i am definitely successful to post it)..

OK, let's continue (before i give up writing or the broadband gets 'crankier')

yesterday was a blast. it was the Ashabul Brisbane's first gathering in Malaysia. i am firstly so thankful to Allah that we could meet like this again, even though it was done somewhere else, not in our own house anymore..

it was amazing to see almost everyone was there except those who were not in KL and already back to Brisbane.

it was special because we celebrated choc's 23rd' birthday. =)

it was also special thinking that Allah's rahmat is still with us.

Even though we don't get to see each other as frequent as we used to be in Brisbane, the meeting was never boring. we talked, we chatted, we laughed like we were still together.

yes, we are together, together deep inside our heart, and this ukhuwah will definitely remain till Jannah as long as it's because of Him.

i'm glad that Allah still chooses us to share this love.
i'm glad that Allah still put love and care in our hearts.
i'm even more glad, if we together can still meet again there, in Jannah..

Allah humma robithotaha...

we'll surely meet again, dearies...

p/s: jaga Brisbane elok- elok ye!

...update...

yeah, i'm wearing my student cap now. been back in IPBA (now is IPGM - KBA) since last week and still trying to adjust myself to this "known- but- now- it's- different" environment. alhamdulillah. i attended PSM (Program Semai Mesra) last week and so glad to meet with new faces who are flying to "the land down under" especially the future Brissies. InshaAllah may Allah grant BNE as the land of dakwah and tarbiyyah.

nothing much to say in this post. by the way, i am just coming back from jogging; a routine that i always did when i was in IPBA two years before. alhamdulillah. i am adapting to the environment even though i felt a bit weird with certain people's treat. but that's okay. it might be because of myself too. undoubtedly, i have changed. quite a lot. in various aspects. and this might give a shock to them. well, i'm learning. =)

and this is tarbiyyah

tiada dalam gambar : ajk makanan (you know who you are. i wonder where she was) haha..

...epilog syawal...

i'm not a big fan of lagu raya. not to the extend of listening it in every minute till the Eid.

but, today, it's different. can't get my mind out from reminiscing Syawal back at home.

is it because i've been away from them too long?

syawal here is not happily celebrated?

well, i go for the first reason.

sabarlah hati, lagi less than 3 months...

dedicate this song to ma, abah, mek dan ayoh

Dari Jauh Ku Pohon Maaf - Sudirman

Dalam dingin subuh hatiku terusik
Kenang nasib diri di rantauan
Bergema takbir raya menitis air mata
Terbayang suasana permai desa

Rindu hati ini inginku kembali
Pada ayah bonda dan saudara
Tetapi aku harus mencari rezeki
Membela nasib kita bersama

Restu ayah bonda kuharap selalu
Hingga aku pulang kepadamu

Restu ayah bonda kuharap selalu
Demi anakmu yang kini jauh

...it's all about time and life...

Either we realize it or not, today is already the second of Ramadhan, Alhamdulillah wa syukurillah for still giving us the chance to breathe in this ‘heaven breeze’. Alhamdulillah wa syukurillah for sampaikan kita kepada Ramadhan. We never know when He will take back our life and bring us to meet Him. As long as we have our roh in our body, lets use it to be the ‘abid to Allah. thinking about time, it moves really really fast and I do admit that time is relative. It’s different to each other. Why I say so? It’s true that we all have 24/7 in our life, not more and not less, but the feeling that we have at each second do make it different. For example, 5 minutes of thinking in Examination Hall is so fast compared to while we are waiting for the bus.

Right now, I feel time has moved so fast and left me behind. It’s so much that I want to do in my life and yet it still hasn’t done, some of them haven’t started either. But, yes, I’ll do it slowly and hope it will accomplish sooner or later. inshaAllah. Time flies so fast that now is already my final semester in OZ. busy catching up with study and all, that I forget to make myself ready to go back to my homeland. It’s another 3 months, more or less. Pejam celik pejam celik and it’s the time for me to say ‘sayonara oz’.

Thinking about time too, one of my important persons in my life said that time is moving so slow for her. Macam kura-kura. She’s missing me, counting days, and praying so hard that Allah will lengthen both of our life, so that we can meet again. She’s not feeling well now and me myself prays to Allah that He already destines our next meeting. Oh, how I want to be with her now. But I believe she has the Greatest Guidance of all with her. May You always look after her.

Thinking about time too, Human being are in a great loss except to those who have Faith, do righteous deeds, join together in mutual teaching of truth and of patience and consistency (Al-Asr: 1-3). Reflecting of my days that I have gone through, I pondered to myself, am I one of them? or have I escaped from this group of people? Oh, it’s hard question to answer and deep inside my heart I realize where I am now. The path of life seems so long, still. But how far can I go? Am I able to drag my feet for another 10 metres or should I think of what transportation should I take to go another 1000 km ahead? Allahu’alam. I have no answer. I really don’t have the answer. But for sure, the final destination was told. Fullstop. No begging, No bargaining, for another day or even another second.

And the long journey and time that we have gone/ will go through in this duniya, will surely be felt so short as if, it’s just a single evening, or at most till the following morn! (an-nazi’at: 46)

Beramallah selagi mampu!!

p/s: sorry if i am rambling too much, just that my brain is currently overflowing with illogical children stories and story books and i need a medium to neutralizing it. =)

...Ramadhan kita...

Alhamdulillah ala kulli hal.

Juggling between amal da’wah and assignments’ due dates is my real battlefield now. Ramadhan’s getting nearer and seriously I can’t afford to be happier and having more debaran other than waiting this noble, coming- only- once- a- year-guest. Plans have been made and presented. Now, what we seek is to terjemahkan apa yang ada pada Microsoft Word kepada amal yang ikhlas.

These are the activities that we are going to have throughout this month:

1. Tadarus al- Quran (QUT and UQ)
2. Akademi Hafazan (aiming for Juzu’ 30 and the finale is during Syawal celebration)
3. ‘Iktikaf
4. Kempen Kalimah Toyyibah
5. Iftar and Tarawih Jamaie
6. Ukhti Ramadhan
7. Harapan Ramadhan

Any extra information can be obtained from me personally.

I know, at this very moment, i should do something more productive like thinking of the assignments (even though i have been thinking of them ever since). but, let me leave them aside for a while and share this poem. me myself never sure who wrote this, but, it's written somewhere on the paper in the box from the seniors last year.

a reflective one, this poem.. and more of 'stabbing my heart' because it somehow reflected me.

and it's entitled,

YANG MUDAH DAN YANG PAYAH

meninggalkan jahiliyah itu mudah...
kerana hawa itu bukan fitrah...
pantas sahaja kita tak perlukannya..

namun mujahadah itu payah..
kerana hawa sentiasa nampak indah..
pantas sahaja kita hanyut ke dalamnya..

jahiliyah luar itu mudah ditinggalkan..
pakaian..
pergaulaun..
movie.. muzik..
foya- foya..

jahiliyah dalam itu sukar untuk dilepaskan..
hasad dengki..
riya'..
takabbur..
'ujub..
marah...

aduh.. pedih hulu hati..
moga Allah beri kekuatan..
agar lembut hati..
agar kita jadi (hamba dan) daie rabbani...

p/s: (hamba dan) tu tambah sendiri

and as i said, i never know who wrote this poem but i believe, it's one of those from akhowat seniors Brisbane zaman dahulu kala [if the owner reads this, allow me to publish =)]

but what i get is that

(yusuf:108)

...and, i want to take it seriously...

Uni has started last week, and this semester will be my final semester in QUT as well as Australia. I have made few renewals of my resolution for this semester that I shall make it secret here. It’s between me and My Lord =). Amazingly, this semester, I am taking Teaching Reading and Writing unit as one of my electives which, the other is Story Telling in Early childhood. Basically, it’s (Teaching Reading and Writing) a unit that prepares future teachers to teach reading and writing for early years students as well as to be equipped with special skills and exposure on how to tackle the students who are at risk of reading and writing. Why I say ‘amazingly’ above? Actually, at first I was not keen of taking this unit as we (my cohort) are the pioneer of this unit after the cancellation of Maths, ICT and Science electives in our requirement. That’s the first reason, the second reason is, I reflected on myself who are not a good reader and writer myself. Therefore, I thought that if I took this unit, I might not feel confident and suffer for low self confident (hehe, penyakit dari kecik). And the last reason which I guess, turned up to be the major reason why I don’t want to take up this unit was, I may not be able to score high grade on this.

So, what makes me change my mind (well, I shall say it’s quite a sudden of changing my decision)?
There are quite a few reasons why I change my mind but the ultimate one is because of one of the ayah in Quran. Just a simple one, and I believe everyone who read my blog know this word.

Yes. It’s just because of the word “IQRA’”

The first word that was revealed to our beloved prophet was ‘IQRA’ which means READ. So, don’t you think reading is important? If not, Allah won’t ‘wahyukan’ this ayah as the first one above other deeds that we have in Quranul Kareem. And, the explanation from Ust Halim when he was here in Brisbane that day, made me more confident to take this unit.

Why?

As far as I could recall my memory, he said that, Allah asks our Prophet to firstly read portrays that knowledge is very important in our life and we can change our lives by getting much knowledge. Can you imagine or recall? In the time of Prophet Muhammad before he was not mandated as Prophet of Allah, how was the life of people of the Arabs? They were merely nothing. NOTHING in term of its civilization if compared to the civilization of Rome and Parsi at that time. Allah then, sent Prophet Muhammad to change the lives of the people in Arabs that (if we fast forward of this seerah story), the Muslims (pioneer by Rasulullah, an Arabs with his sahabah, most of them are Arabs) later became ON TOP OF THE WORLD (ustaziatul ‘alam) in the time of Abbasiyyah (if I am not mistaken, correct me if I am wrong). So, what changes this? It’s the word IQRA’. Why? Let we ponder ourselves. How does the knowledge can be gained? Undeniably most of the knowledge in the world nowadays can be found through reading. It means that reading is very very very essential to us if we want to success (raise up your hand if you don’t agree with my statement).

Long story cut short, if we look at our society nowadays (I believe that most of the readers if not all are Malay and Muslim), how many students who enter SECONDARY school (note that it’s secondary not primary) do not know how to read? I also believe that most of you will say, “yes, quite a lot” (if you are concerned about your friends in the last class!!). Sharing the story with my parents long time ago, they said that there was at least one class of the students (that means about 30 something) who entered secondary school DID NOT KNOW how to read. =(

They do not know how to read? How are they going to survive in this 21st century where everything that we want to do, we must know how to read? Even worst, we don’t just read from the old newspaper, but we have internet that everything is updated in super fast second. Don’t you think that they will lag behind a lot of the things?

And, straight away, at that time, I was so pitiful to them and my parents kept on discussing about this matter. Who are you going to blame if it happens to your relatives? I bet most of you will say, ‘the primary school teachers’. The same answer that I told my parents at that time. If you ask me the same question again now, my answer will be different as I look at this problem in more broad perspective. I will not solely blame the teacher, as I did when I was immature long time ago. But, I don’t deny that it might also be the fault of the teacher.

And it actually has answered the questions why I want to take up this unit. I don’t want to be blamed for not doing my job educating the children until they can at least read and write. This responsibility that I have is not just from the Malaysians, ie: the parents, the children, but, this responsibility is given by Allah to me. He has chosen me as His Abid and Khalifah of the World with extra nikmat of giving me the true fikrah and understanding of His Deen. If I am not the one who wants to take this responsibility to have extra work, educate the next generations, and bear all the pains, can I just let others who do not know how to read and write accept all of the burdens, ie educate the Ummah? The onus is on me and my fellow colleagues to teach the students not just bright students but also students who have disadvantages for example is those at risk in learning how to read. In fact, they are the ones that we should give extra care of.

I want Muslims to be the greatest Ummah of the world and Allah has promised that. What I (and also you) have to do is to sacrifice ourselves to see Islam as Ustaziatul ‘alam. You do your part and I’ll do my part, and if we are together with the same mission and pure niat, the success will be ours.

I guess I should stop typing now. I have another class after this. What I write here is something that I really feel at this very moment. I hope this same spirit will stay with me until Izrail comes and bring me to My Lord.
